The Deputy British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Parker, Tuesday, September 2, slumped and died at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos.

Parker who flew into the country aboard an American Airline from Atlanta, Georgia, was said to have taken ill while on-board.

Medical personnel attached to the terminal tried to revive him, but without success.

An ambulance was then called in to take Mr. Parker to a morgue.

An eyewitness account recalled that the diplomat grabbed his chest, screaming “my heart”, an indication that he must have had a cardiac arrest. He slumped before health officials could reach him.
