There were reports yesterday that Kaduna had recorded its first case of the dreaded Ebola virus in a 19-year-old law student of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The student was diagnosed for Ebola yesterday September 2 and more details were being awaited from the authorities of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, ABUTH, who confirmed the case.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Thot Dogo, while also confirming the suspected Ebola case due to symptoms exhibited by the student, had said that the blood sample of the patient was taken to a laboratory in Lagos for tests and the result expected today, September 3.
It has now been learnt that the test result show negative. The Federal Ministry of Health and the state government are however yet to announce the results formally.
