Military experts have drawn the world’s attention to the fact that a terrorist group like ISIS may be considering using the deadly Ebola virus as a suicide suicide bio-weapon against “enemy countries.
How? Simple! By injecting themselves and traveling to their target countries where they’ll mix up and “show so much love to anyone they come in contact with".
Professor Anthony Glees, Director at Buckingham University's Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies, says it is a plausible strategy.
According to MailOnline, Forbes reports him as saying: “In some ways it’s a plausible theory – IS fighters believe in suicide and this is a potential job for a suicide mission. They are sufficiently murderous and well-informed to consider it, and they know that we’ve been remiss in the UK”.
But a blogger on themelowjihadi, com, who posted with the name, Ex Bootneck, disagrees with Prof. Glee's words, saying he sounded too simplistic.
His words: “Please allow me to step in and pee on the above academics bonfire a little – delete ‘plausible theory’ and insert ‘positively happening.’ Certain Western government ‘agencies’ operating around African states over the past several months, are fully aware of the Islamic terrorist groups who have been actively seeking Ebola infected clothing for the use of ‘weaponisation’ – this as well as smallpox among other hideous diseases. Which sadly is a FACT!
However, when MailOnline spoke to Jennifer Cole, Senior Research Fellow, Resilience & Emergency Management, at the Royal United Services Institute, she acknowledged the theory’s plausibility and dismissed it’s possibility at this time. She opined that this period would not be the best time for the terrorists to employ the strategy.
She told the online medium: “Everyone's looking out for signs of Ebola at the moment so they'd be very unlikely to get away with it.
“The other issue with Ebola is that it's very hard to control. The militants could just end up wiping themselves out before they've had the chance to pass it on. For a suicide attack, strapping sticks of dynamite to your chest is far more effective”.
In its report, Forbes recalled a May 2013 issue of the journal Global Policy where another expert, Amanda Teckman, author of the paper "The Bioterrorist Threat Of Ebola In East Africa And Implications For Global Health And Security", stated: 'The threat of an Ebola bioterrorist attack in East Africa is a global health and security concern, and should not be ignored”
As a matter of fact, the bioweapon theory has long been a matter of concern in the US. That concern, according to a MailOnline report, might have prompted the $5.6billion Project Bioshield in America.
The virus which has killed over 3,800 in West Africa has recently made in-roads to the US and Spain. America’s index case, Thomas Duncan, died on Wednesday
