While controversy continues to rage on whether Boko Haram had captured Bama in borno state or not, reports have it that the sect has captured yet another town, this time, Banki, a border town to Cameroon.
Residents told BBC Hausa service that soldiers fled when the terrorists stormed the town.
A man who was reportedly hiding in the nearby bush said that most of the people left in the town were women and children, as many of the men had also taken off. But the reports said that none of the residents were harmed.
Fears are now heightened that the terrorists having possibly seized Bama too, are inching closer to taking the State capital, Maiduguri.
Just last month, Boko Haram seized Gwoza and declared it an Islamic caliphate.
