2015: Abacha’s son withdraws from Kano governorship race

Muhammad Abacha, eldest son of late Head of State, General Sani Abacha last night withdrew from the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary election. 

Reasons for his withdrawal are yet to be given. Meanwhile, Alhaji Sagir Salihu Takai emerged winner on Tuesday morning, beating the remaining five aspirants after polling 1260 votes.

Takai was the governorship candidate of the defunct All Nigerian Peoples Party in 2011 election.
