The political ambitions of some of Nigeria’s entertainers have been dealt a big blow after Tuesday’s State House of Assembly primaries in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Actor turned Director; Desmond Olusola Elliot was the only entertainer who won yesterday. He now has APC’s candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat to represent Surulere Constituency.
Popular gospel singer, Kenny Saint Best (KSB) lost APC’s Ikeja 1 State Constituency ticket to Folajimi Lai Mohammed, the son of the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed.
Popular broadcaster, Dayo “D1”Adeneye, also lost his bid to contest for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly on the platform of the APC. He lost to former Special Adviser on Education to the State Governo, Ibikunle Amosun. He was seeking to represent Odogbolu Constituency.
The likes of 9ice, Kate Henshaw, Funke Adesiyan, Bob Manuel-Udokwu, Ejike Methuselah, Tony Tetuila and Kenneth Okonkwo, will know their fates in the days to come.
