Bomb blast in Maiduguri market as military reacts to Damaturu siege

Just while Damaturu, the Yobe state capital was under attack from Boko Haram, two bombs reportedly exploded at the Maiduguri Monday Market.

The market was the same location where several people were killed last week after two female suicide bombers detonated explosive devices.

Details of the level of the blast and casualty figures are yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile the military Defence Headquarters, via its twitter handle, has stated that

Troops backed by the Airforce are carefully engaging terrorists who attacked the town in the early hours of today. 

The approach is to secure the civilian population while repelling or apprehending the terrorists. Details later please
