It is being reported that embattled super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi will sign a new contract with the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) and will now earn N84million per annum.
The deal is a 12-month contract which is now N2million better than his last contract with the NFF which ended after the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.
Keshi’s salary is believed to be one of the reasons why his contract was not immediately renewed after the tournament. The coach, according to reports, wanted N10million but the board insisted on N5million.
Despite the AFCON qualification disaster, the federal government’s intervention may have stopped the NFF from doing away with Keshi completely and getting a foreign coach as it had planned.
