A cleanliness and beautification competition, tagged “Imo My Pride” project, has been kicked off in Imo State where 637 communities would compete to win awards from the State governor.


The competition, aimed at encouraging rural communities to keep a clean and healthy, was kicked off on Thursday by the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.


The Governor’s Chief of Staff, Sir Jude Ejiogu, who represented his principal at the kick off, explained that the programme was put together by the Imo State Orientation Agency (ISOA).


He enjoined traditional leaders, women organizations and other stakeholders in the communities to mobilize the youths to actively take part in sanitation exercises and cleanliness habits in their communities.
