Boko Haram has reportedly gone into talks with the Nigerian government over the release of more than 200 girls abducted six months ago.
Voice of America (VOA) reports that the meeting is holding in Saudi Arabia and that it includes a cease-fire negotiation.
The talk it was reported is aided by the Chadian President, Idris Deby and highly placed Cameroonian officials. There has however been no independent confirmation from the Nigerian government.
On April 14, dozens of the Islamic militants stormed the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, the remote village in Borno state, kidnapping about 270 girls out of which 57 escaped.
