Just minutes after new Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, was sworn in on Thursday, six members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State House of Assembly defected to join him in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but by Friday morning, Newson247 gathered that five more had joined, bringing the number to 11.
The first six who defected include Adeojo Ayodele (Ekiti South West II Constituency), Olowo Ajiboye (Oye II), Adeloye Adeyinka (Ikole I), Abeni Olayinka (Ado II), Fatunba Olajide (Moba II), and Olugbemi Joseph (Ikole II).
The six lawmakers’ defection was announced as the new governor, Ayo Fayose was being sworn in.
RayPower Network during a live programme, Political Platform, also mentioned the new defections but the names of the new five are yet to be revealed. Details are still been awaited.
Before now, the PDP had only one member in the House of Assembly, out of the 26 members. Now, the party has 12.
Meanwhile, “stomach infrastructure” which was just a new introduction to Nigeria’s political lexicon, has now been given an office on Ekiti State. Fayose has appointed a Personal Assistant on Stomach Infrastructure in the person of MR. Sunday Anifowose.
Watchers now believe that more members of the APC in the state, within and outside the House of Assembly would also jump ship to the PDP in order to “give their stomach some infrastructure”
