Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg donates $25million to Ebola

Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg has donated $25million to the fight against Ebola. He said on Tuesday in a statement that he and wife Priscilla Chan were donating the money to help combat the deadly Ebola outbreak, which has already claimed over 4,000 lives.

His words: “Priscilla and I are donating $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to help fight Ebola.

“We need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn’t spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at large scale, like HIV or polio.

“We believe our grant is the quickest way to empower the CDC and the experts in this field to prevent this outcome”.

Mark Zuckerberg is worth an estimated $33.3 billion.
