Five foreign coaches have been shortlisted by the Ghana Football Association as they move to fill the vacant position of coach of Black stars, the country’s senior national team.

Former coach, Kwesi Appiah was sacked a few weeks ago. He was the first local coach to take Ghana to a world cup tournament but he had a disappointing show during the finals.

According to a statement on the association’s website, one of the following notable coaches would soon take over as Black Stars coach:

1.    Israeli, Avram Grant, former coach of Chelsea

2.    Dutchman Patrick Kluivert, Assistant coach to the Dutch national team in Brazil 2014.

3.    Italian, Marco Tardelli, current coach of Watford in England

4.    Swiss, Michel Pont, former Swiss assistant coach

5.    Spaniard, Juan Martinez, former Levante and Valladolid of Spain manager

Meanwhile, two coaches -Bernd Schuster and Ricardo Gareca- have been placed on standby in the event one or some of those listed fail to show up.
