Yinka Ayefele’s dad dies during birthday celebration

Pa Joshua Taiwo Ayefele , father of popular "Tungba-gospel" artiste, Yinka Ayefele is dead. According to the artiste, his father died on Sunday, October 12 while his 76th birthday was being celebrated at Ipoti Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Ayefele posted on social media: “Dad is Gone, High Chief J.T Ayefele. Baami, *tears*’…”

The artiste said he was shocked to hear the news of his father’s death minutes after he left the Ipoti Ekiti for Ibadan. He had gone to the town for the celebration.

He said: I was there with him at Ipoti Ekiti to celebrate with him, he even saw me off when I was leaving and I left but was surprised to hear few minutes after I left of his demise”.

It was learnt that the septuagenarian, famously called Baba Teacher had requested that his birthday be celebrated, a request his family saw as unusual but obliged him still. Now it is believed that he had a premonition that he was living his last day even though he had been hale and hearty before then.

The late Pa Ayefele was until his demise, an educationist and community leader in his native Ipoti Ekiti.
