An Air France passenger plane has been isolated at a Madrid airport after a Nigerian passenger was suspected of having the dreaded Ebola virus. The plane was taken to an isolated area in the airport, while the rest of the 163 passengers on board were allowed to leave.


Daily Express UK reports that the passenger, according to the Spanish health authorities had symptoms related to the virus - fever and shivers. The case was being treated as a suspected case.

The airline in a statement said that a passenger from Nigeria started shaking during the Airbus A321 flight while a spokeswoman for Spanish Airport Authority said the plane had arrived in Madrid from Paris, with several reports saying that there were 163 passengers on board.

A health ministry spokesman, Fernando Simon, was quoted to have said the passenger had a fever 37.7C - the level at which Ebola must be tested for.

Results of the test were expected later in the day.
