Former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, who was sacked in the early hours of Thursday has reacted to the NFF board’s decision to relieve him of his job.
Speaking to Premium Times on Thursday morning after his sack was made public; Keshi said “It is about time for me to move on, my dear. This is not the end of the world for me,”
He was sacked despite winning 3-1 against Sudan on Wednesday. Chants of “You must go” had emanated from fans immediately he stepped on to the pitch after the match. Although the win was a huge relieve for Nigerians who fear that the country may not qualify for the 2015 Nations Cup.

The sack is however not entirely punitive or in bad blood. The NFF executive committee approved that Keshi, and his assistants, Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorounmu go for any coaching course in any country of their choice to be fully funded by the NFF.
It may sound like a derogatory “go and learn” but it is undoubtedly aimed at building their capacity as the possibility of their return to the team in future is not ruled out.
